Aeromexico Expands Revolving Credit Facility to $250 Million
Grupo Aeromexico has renewed and upsized a syndicated credit line from $200M to $250M, with BBVA Mexico leading the three-year deal.
Grupo Aeromexico has completed the renewal and expansion of a revolving syndicated credit facility to USD 250 million, the airline announced Sept. 30, 2026. The deal, structured through subsidiary Aerovias de Mexico, S.A. de C.V., carries a three-year term and represents a 25 percent increase over the USD 200 million facility the carrier originally secured in November 2024.
BBVA Mexico served as Sole Global Coordinator, Sole Bookrunner, and Administrative Agent for the transaction, managing the structuring, syndication, and upsizing of the financing. A mix of domestic and international financial institutions participated in the facility, broadening the credit base supporting the Mexican carrier.

The expanded line is intended to safeguard Aeromexico's day-to-day operational liquidity while simultaneously giving management greater financial flexibility. The airline said the additional capacity will allow it to direct resources toward strategic investments and the continued execution of its long-term business plan.
The move signals a strengthening balance sheet posture for Aeromexico, which emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States in 2022 and has since worked to rebuild its financial standing. Securing a larger revolving facility on a multi-year horizon generally reflects improved lender confidence in a borrower's creditworthiness and earnings outlook, though the source did not address credit ratings or specific investment targets.
