Trade Nation to Buy FXCM's UK Client Book From Stratos Markets

Trade Nation, a spread betting and contracts-for-difference broker regulated by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority, has reached an agreement to acquire the United Kingdom client book of Stratos Markets Limited, the entity that operates under the FXCM and Tradu brands in the UK, the company announced October 6, 2026.
The transaction involves the transfer of existing UK clients from Stratos Markets to Trade Nation, with completion targeted for late November 2026. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in the announcement.

The move signals continued consolidation within the UK retail forex and CFD brokerage sector, where regulatory pressures and operational costs have driven smaller or restructuring firms to exit certain markets or divest client portfolios to better-capitalized competitors.
FXCM, once one of the largest retail forex brokers globally, has operated under the Stratos Markets umbrella in the UK market. The Tradu brand has served as a more recent consumer-facing identity for the same regulated entity. Clients affected by the transition are expected to be notified ahead of the scheduled transfer date.
